Sustainability Week: Zero Waste
As part of our participation in CicloSiete, our second activity was Zero Waste Day in collaboration with the primary school Francisco Sarabia and the Telesecundaria Jose Vasconcelos on Monday, April 18.
Leading up to Monday, CEA staff went to the schools to deliver information on the 3Rs and help students design bins for sorting garbage. The objective is for students track (by weight over time) how much waste they produce.
CEA will continue to work with Franciso Sarabia and the Telesecundaria to help monitor and track the waste, as well as brainstorm and implement various strategies to reduce the amount of waste. Classes are now competing with each other to see how little trash their class can produce.
