CEA is participating in CicloSiete, or Sustainability Week (La Semana por la Sostenibilidad): a seven day Latin American-wide event leading up to Earth Day which focuses on promoting and highlighting experiences that strengthen sustainability throughout Latin America.
Each of the seven days has been given a theme and here at CEA we will be creating and delivering events on:
Saturday, April 16
THEME: Biodiversity (Volunteer Awareness)
EVENT: Community Biologists
Two high school students will be "community biologists." They will be working with CEA's biologists in the bay to learn about marine life and help collect the data for our projects.

Monday, April 18
THEME: Colleges + Universities (Student Awareness)
EVENT: Zero Waste
CEA will be working with the Akumal-based high school and elementary school in a variety of activities leading up to the 18th so on the day zero waste is created at the schools.
Thursday, April 21
THEME: Sustainability Expo (Organization Awareness)
EVENT: Refresher Workshop
CEA will be offering a refresher workshop to guides. The goal is to refresh and review the best practices so they can help protect the ecosystems while snorkeling and/or diving.
